Retail Facilities Manager

Direct activities for the delivery of facility management services, operations, and repair for 30-40 retail banking locations for a global financial services firm with a large North American portfolio.

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Facility Manager, the successful candidate will facilitate delivery of services, budgetary control, adherence to business plan, and oversight of daily management and operations activities. Responsibilities include ensuring efficient service delivery and accountability for overall financial performance in compliance with the business plan.

Responsibilities

• Ensure day-to-day operations of retail facilities, including janitorial, life-safety, and general maintenance, align with C&W policies and ownership directives.
• Manage contracts to ensure regular review, competitive bidding, and accurate invoicing.
• Supervise all maintenance programs for interior and exterior property conditions and appearance.
• Respond promptly to occupant requests and implement ongoing programs to assess and address tenant and occupant needs in accordance with contract scope and SLAs.
• Actively participate in preparing operating plans, budgets, financial reports, contracts, expenditures, and purchase orders.
• Assist in developing capital budgets, including contributions to a five-year plan for maintenance, facility improvement, and cost reduction.
• Collect, analyze, and report statistical data to provide accurate assessments of facility management objectives.
• Maintain thorough familiarity with the management contract and all its requirements.

Requirements

• Demonstrated commercial acumen in improving business performance at strategic and practical levels.
• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience.
• CFM, FMA industry certifications recommended; other Engineering, Business, or technical training or certifications a plus.
• Experience with accounting systems, preferably Yardi, and internal/external audit functions.
• Experience as a department head, including business planning, budgeting, personnel management, and staff modeling.
• Experience managing business operations within a fixed-cost environment to minimize financial exposure.
• Experience in vendor contract administration, financial control, staff management, property, and facility management.
• Strong understanding of operational cost control, vendor management, and quality assurance.
• Strong team player with ability to build effective working relationships with individuals, department heads, and client representatives.
• Energetic, lateral thinker with an enquiring mind and commercial approach.
• Experience developing and implementing programs to drive out cost inefficiencies.
• High degree of personal drive and motivation to succeed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including high-quality report writing.
• Ability to learn quickly and stay abreast of developments.
• Commitment to achieving assigned goals and targets.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain progress on multiple projects and processes.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to travel between floors and buildings in varying outdoor weather conditions.
• May be required to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Use hands to operate office machinery, including telephones, computers, fax, and photocopy machines.
• Regularly required to walk, talk, and hear.

Pay

The compensation for this position is $85,000.00 - $100,000.00, depending on factors such as geographic location, date of hire, total hours worked, job type, business line, and applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
