About the role

The Retail Banker I role is integral to delivering TD's Brand promise by utilizing financial expertise and consultative advice to assist customers with their banking solutions/needs. This role contributes to the achievement of business objectives that enable growth through identifying appropriate TD solutions that help customers achieve their financial goals and optimize their relationship with TD.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes product knowledge to identify and recommend appropriate solutions to customers, ensuring a positive customer experience.
• Engages in customer conversations to educate them on products and services, and provides proactive insights and recommendations.
• Manages customer relationships by resolving issues, errors, and problems, and escalating when necessary.
• Trains and maintains an active registration status with NMLS to facilitate loan applications.
• Performs a variety of transactions including check cashing, deposits, transfers, and withdrawals, while adhering to operational policies and procedures.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements such as Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act.
• Supports the timely and accurate completion of business processes and escalates non-standard or high-risk transactions/activities as necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years' experience working with customers and/or sales in any capacity, or equivalent demonstrated through education, military experience, or volunteering.
• Teller experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to engage in customer conversations and educate them on products and services.
• Demonstrated organization skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to be concise, clear, and consistent.
• Demonstrated ability to schedule and prioritize work.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and within deadlines.
• Sound judgment in decision making and effective problem-solving.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Notary License (preferred).

• Full proficiency gained through job-related training to perform a range of activities.
• Ability to participate in customer outreach, servicing, and advice activities to deliver on TD's unexpectedly human promise.
• Active registration status with NMLS to facilitate loan applications.
