Retail Associate - Part Time

Primary Responsibilities

• Receive donated items and complete paperwork.
• Operate cash registers and maintain displays.
• Stock merchandise and remove empty hangers and outdated merchandise according to the rotation schedule.
• Maintain the general appearance of the store including general housekeeping.
• Follow sorting and pricing guidelines for textiles and hardlines.
• Size and hang textiles and differentiate materials placing them in proper containers.
• Operate powered industrial trucks and other material handling equipment to move containers and merchandise.
• Assemble and disassemble containers, gaylords, and kit bins.
• Maintain proper use of available space and materials.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• One (1) year of experience in retail operations is preferred.

Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Work Conditions

• Inside generally 100% of the time, but may include occasional outside work.
• Limited emotional effort with a routine work environment that includes periods of isolated high stress.
• Short deadlines requiring some overtime.
• Weekends and holidays are required.
• Available and on call for emergency situations at stores.

Physical Requirements

• Maintain medium work level, occasionally exerting up to 50 pounds of force and/or up to 25 pounds of lifting, frequent lifting up to 10 pounds, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, climbing, reaching, handling, hearing, talking, seeing, and repetitive movement.

• Demonstrate ability to think independently in supervisor's absence.
• Meet production goals.
• Demonstrate quality control and accuracy with sorting and pricing guidelines.
• Follow Kaizen principles, adhere to 6S Checklist, procedures, signage, and layout.
• Maintain a valid powered industrial truck license, when required.
