Retail Associate - Mount Rushmore National Memorial

About the Role

Join our Retail team at Mount Rushmore National Memorial, located in the beautiful Black Hills region of South Dakota. As a Retail Associate, you will be a proud steward of the park, providing warm and friendly hospitality to all guests through retail and dining operations.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests within the retail store area to ensure a positive experience.
• Assist in keeping merchandise stocked on shelves, counters, and tables.
• Help guests with merchandise by answering questions, making suggestions, and demonstrating product use.
• Follow procedures to process guest sales at the register, including cash handling and payment procedures.
• Maintain assigned cashier drawer and ensure accuracy.
• Examine defective or returned merchandise to determine refunds or replacements.
• Follow Company and departmental environmental and safety practices, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience is preferred.
• Previous cash handling experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to provide excellent guest service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing tasks and priorities.
• Willingness to assist the team with various tasks as needed.
• Must be a positive team player with a flexible schedule and a passion for work.

Physical Requirements

• Constantly: standing, walking, handling, reaching outward, lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 12 pounds.
• Frequently: reaching above shoulder, climbing, lifting/carrying 11-20 pounds, and pushing/pulling 13-25 pounds.
• Occasionally: crawling, squatting/kneeling, bending, lifting/carrying 21 to over 100 pounds, and pushing/pulling 26-100 pounds.

Pay

$14.25 per hour.

Schedule

Seasonal position from September 2026 to April 2027. Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
