About the role

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. This includes greeting customers, assisting with merchandise, and maintaining a clean and organized store.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and practices safety in all actions.
  • Maintains a safe and secure shopping environment by being aware of the sales floor and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Treats customers and associates with respect and courtesy, and uses company recognition programs.
  • Assists customers with merchandise, answers questions, and greets them politely.
  • Responds promptly and efficiently to customer service calls and handles issues courteously.
  • Represents the company brand and maintains confidentiality.
  • Performs cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and replenishing supplies.
  • Maintains a neat and organized store following company best practices.
  • Expedites new merchandise receipts and merchandises items according to company guidelines.
  • Understands loss prevention and follows policies regarding cash, checks, cards, and refunds.
  • Manages work processes effectively, communicates effectively, and ensures accountability and execution.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

  • Communicate effectively with customers, associates, and store leadership.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements/ADA

  • Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.

The base pay range for this role is $15.00 - $15.50. The base pay range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

In addition, all Full-Time Associates, including FT Retail Associate, Area Supervisor, Assistant Store Manager, and Store Manager, are eligible for extended benefits offered including Medical/Dental/Vision Health Insurance, Legal Insurance, Vacation Buy, Flexible Spending Account, Health Savings Account, Life/ADD Insurance, Long-Term Disability, Enhanced Maternity and Parental Leave Benefit, Vacation Pay accrued at a rate of 10 days/year after eligibility commences, 9 Personal and Company Holidays. AS, ASM, and SM Associates in Stores and Exempt Corporate and Buying Office roles are also eligible to receive a Bonus based on individual and business performance.
