About the Role
This position involves a variety of customer service, sales, cashiering, and operational tasks in a retail store environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive Donations: Greet donors, accept and unload donated materials, enter customer general information into a smart device (such as a phone or tablet), and thank donors for their donated items.
- Processing: Sort, separate, and hang clothing and household items. Sort, test, clean, and mark small appliances, housewares, shoes, seasonal items, and other assorted merchandise.
- Cashiering: Conduct sales transactions and maintain control of cash and credit card transactions by following proper procedures for voids, discounts, refunds, checks, and credit card payments.
- Cleaning Duties: Perform cleaning tasks including but not limited to bathrooms, floors, shelves, windows, break room, store fixtures, fitting rooms, dock area, store exterior, and merchandise counters. Report issues that require maintenance repairs.
- Customer Service: Assist customers, price merchandise, manage fitting rooms, offer recycling bags, explain store operations, and use sales techniques to enhance the store’s sales and community image.
Schedule
Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
