About the Role

As an Assistant Store Manager at Bath & Body Works, you will partner with the Store Manager to develop outstanding associates, deliver exceptional and consistent customer experiences, and positively impact growth. Our store leaders are retail and customer-savvy, dedicated brand ambassadors who thrive on connections with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Attract, hire, develop, inspire, and retain top talent.
  • Set and reinforce clear performance expectations, results goals, and accountability with all associates.
  • Act as Manager on Duty to address customer experience, vendor relationships, or maintenance issues.
  • Partner with the Sales Leadership Team to support action plans that improve results and ensure operational execution.
  • Implement and sustain floorset direction to optimize business and bring the product story to life.
  • Perform opening and closing routines, including bank deposits, shipment receipt, and disseminating company directives.
  • Set daily/shift direction and goals for associates.
  • Provide individual and team performance feedback and recommendations to managers.
  • Meet payroll targets by ensuring sales floor coverage and maintaining a selling focus.
  • Lead exceptional in-store customer experiences through selling behaviors, product knowledge, and genuine connections.
  • Train, coach, reward, and motivate associates to improve selling and customer experience.
  • Reinforce selling expectations, performance, results, and accountability.
  • Maintain store safety, cleanliness, and visual appearance through physical activities such as standing, walking, reaching, lifting, climbing ladders, and bending.
  • Consistently lift 10 pounds and up to 50 pounds.
  • Adhere to all safety standards, values, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering sales, customer experience, and operational results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in a manager role, preferably in retail.
  • Ability to thrive in a customer-first retail environment and foster a customer-focused selling culture.
  • Effective communication skills, openness to feedback, and adaptability.
  • Ability to provide in-the-moment coaching to associates and de-escalate store/customer situations.
  • Availability to work peak days and times, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma, GED certificate, or relevant work experience.
