About the role
The Store Assistant Manager at Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington is responsible for supporting the retail, production, and material handling teams. Reporting to the Store Manager, this individual leads these teams to achieve financial goals while fostering a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Understand and maximize operational metrics to achieve goals
- Discuss operations and results with the Store Manager and supervisors
- Maximize sales through proper stock rotation, merchandising, signage, and identifying e-commerce merchandise
- Achieve a continuous flow of product through production support and collaboration with inventory and new goods
- Engage in excellent customer service, both internally and externally
- Develop strong relationships throughout the enterprise and partner effectively
- Attract, hire, develop, inspire, and retain top talent
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion; promote the voices of all people
- Ensure compliance with Seattle Goodwill policies and procedures
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalency
- 3+ years of retail leadership experience
- 2+ years leading a sales team in a retail or service environment
- Experience leading a team in a customer-centric, solutions-based environment
- Ability to engage and speak to customers and understand their needs
- Skilled in budget metrics, P&L; minimum 1 year experience
- Valid Washington Driver's license and proof of insurance
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to learn new technology and software relevant to the job
Physical Abilities
- Lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Have developed fine motor control
- Standing for long periods, frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing
- Climb ladders
- Able to travel across various surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain)
- Operate computer systems
Mental/Sensory Abilities
- Organize, sort, categorize, count, add, subtract
- Solve problems
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Offer leadership and coaching skills
- Analyze and interpret data

$58,000 - $63,000/year DOE
