Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have experience in leveraged finance, restructuring, or a combination of both, and will play a key role advising private equity sponsors, lenders, and corporate clients on a broad range of financing and distressed transactions. This role offers exposure to:

  • Complex leveraged and acquisition financings
  • Distressed debt and special situations
  • In-court and out-of-court restructurings
  • Cross-border transactions involving sophisticated capital structures

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate credit agreements, commitment letters, and ancillary financing documents
  • Advise clients on capital structure, liability management, and restructuring strategies
  • Support execution of leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and refinancings
  • Assist on Chapter 11 proceedings and out-of-court restructurings
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders including financial advisors and investment professionals
  • Manage transaction timelines and contribute to client-facing strategy discussions

Requirements

  • J.D. from a top-tier law school with strong academic credentials
  • 3–6 years of experience at a leading law firm in leveraged finance, restructuring, or banking
  • Experience representing private equity sponsors, lenders, or corporate borrowers
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex transactions in a fast-paced environment
  • Admission to the New York Bar (or eligibility required)
