Restorative Aide

About the Role

This full-time Restorative Aide position splits time between facilities in Northville and Livonia, assisting residents in the Restorative Program to achieve and maintain optimal physical, mental, and psychosocial function. You will promote resident involvement and help residents reach their goals according to the care plan.

Responsibilities

• Motivate residents to participate in directed exercise programs determined by the Restorative Tech, as instructed by PT, OT, and/or Speech Therapy.
• Plan and lead activities that promote wellness (spiritually, cognitively, physically, emotionally).
• Provide 1:1 exercise programs that benefit restorative clients.
• Review resident files and gather information that may affect their ability to participate in the restorative program.
• Market the program and articulate its process with family, clients, and appropriate departments/companies.
• Communicate with PT, OT, and Speech departments regarding resident progress and concerns.
• Follow directives given by PT, OT, and Speech Therapy.
• Develop and implement small group exercise programs for the wellness of all residents.
• Complete assessments and document each client on a daily basis when visited by the restorative tech.
• Bill for completed programming at the end of each month.
• Perform any additional responsibilities as directed by the building manager or restorative supervisor.

Requirements

• Knowledge of proper body mechanics when working with residents.
• Knowledge of safety concerns and procedures to decrease the risk of falls when working with residents.
• Knowledge of medications that may affect a client’s ability to successfully participate in the restorative program.
