Responsibilities

• Provides restorative nursing services to Guests as assigned or directed.
• Encourages each Guest’s ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental and psychosocial well-being.
• Directs and assists Guests with exercise programs that aim to restore the Guests’ mobility.
• Participates in the care planning process by providing supervisors with specific information and observations of the Guest’s needs, preferences, and reports any behavioral changes.
• Documents Guest’s participation in the restorative program on a daily basis and notes any changes with the Guest’s mobility.
• Affords assistance with prosthetic appliances, medical assistance devises such as canes or walkers, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communication, and other needs.
• Performs various nursing assistant tasks assigned by the supervisor or the floor nurse including checking vital signs, weighing Guests, applying creams/ointments, and collecting specimens.
• Assists the Wound Care Nurse as directed.
• Completes medical records documenting care provided and other information in accordance with nursing policies while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Maintains the comfort, privacy, and dignity of Guests and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect, and promotes a caring environment.
• Ensures each Guest receives person-centered care.
• Answers and responds to call lights promptly and courteously.
• Assists with new admissions, re-admissions, and assists with the transfer of Guests to different rooms within the facility.
• Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Guests, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
• Attends and participates in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
• Recognizes your role as part of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) efforts of your organization.
• Attends trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.
• Carries out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.
• Follows established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.
• Communicates to leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or detecting barriers preventing project success.
• Supports QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.
• Participates in compliance trainings as scheduled and adheres to compliance plan.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid, unencumbered Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) Certification in the state of practice.
• C.P.R. Certified.

Qualifications

• One year experience in a R.N.A. position.
• Knowledge of Federal, State and Local requirements and regulations.

Schedule

Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
