Responsibilities
- Supervise hard and soft surface restoration work related to the construction and maintenance of gas distribution facilities, including all related projects, resource management, and customer involvement.
- Ensure work is conducted safely, reliably, timely, and within compliance to all internal, federal, state, and local statutes and regulations.
- Team with internal departments and contractors to ensure safety goals, SOPs, regulations, and best practices are applied to all restoration processes.
- Plan, schedule, assign, and monitor the restoration work related to pipeline operations.
- Review contractor productivity and quality; monitor performance and contractor allocation.
- Pre-inspect jobs documenting existing conditions; conduct post-project inspections to ensure proper restoration is being performed.
- Team with construction to review any change in scope of restoration and complete required paperwork.
- Monitor and review contractor activities to ensure compliance with local ordinances.
- Monitor budget goals; review and approve invoices.
- Investigate, resolve, and respond to restoration inquiries and claims in a timely manner, which may require communication with customers, internal departments, contractors, other utilities, and public works managers.
- Act as a point of contact for federal, state, and local municipalities with regards to restoration.
- Utilize applications which include but are not limited to: Microsoft applications, GIS, SAP, P6 Primavera, and other related applications.
Requirements
- Knowledge of applicable SOPs, practices, procedures, and federal/state/local regulations.
- Exceptional skills in Microsoft software, required compliance and/or tracking applications and systems.
- Strong planning, organizational, project, and systems management skills.
- Ability to effectively manage costs, contractors, and schedules.
- Solid leadership, team building, written/verbal communications skills.
- Ability to manage conflict, problem-solve, motivate, and lead change.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience in gas operations, including experience in a lead or in hard and soft surface restoration or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year leadership experience or advancing leadership duties.
- Experience working with state and local DOT specifications related to restoration.
- Demonstrated success in leadership role.
- Demonstrated success in systems and project management.
- High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
This position is considered a covered function regulated by 49 CFR Parts 192 (the pipeline safety rules), and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Working Conditions
- Daily travel to work sites of PNG, external customers, and travel beyond Pittsburgh representing PNG.
- Perform light work - exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally.
- Office and field environment; may be subject to extreme temperatures, noise, wet and/or humid conditions, mechanical, electrical, gas exposure hazards, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, and/or poor ventilation atmospheric conditions.
