About the Role

Responsible for the effective use of all assigned personnel to achieve maximum operating results, revenue tracking, and cost of sales control. The Restaurant Supervisor provides direction to staff on an assigned shift and ensures the day-to-day operation of the assigned outlet adheres to established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Interview, train, and select employees for the department.
  • Conduct performance reviews in accordance with policies and procedures; provide feedback, coaching, and development guidance as needed.
  • Review, analyze, and make recommendations regarding wage increases, promotions, or demotions.
  • Plan, supervise, and monitor the work of team members in assigned area(s).
  • Control operations according to standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure available facilities are adequate for the performance of duties by assigned personnel.
  • Maintain and instruct assigned personnel on safety and sanitation policies and procedures; ensure hazards are eliminated.
  • Monitor appearance of food served and communicate deviations from standards to the Kitchen Supervisor.
  • Prepare and coordinate periodical performance reviews of assigned personnel.
  • Recommend changes including hiring, promotion, demotion, and release of personnel; recommend wage and salary adjustments within established limits.
  • Demonstrate expertise in all service standards and clearly communicate expectations to team members.
  • Hold all team members accountable for exhibiting service standards and ensure they understand their value to guests, employees, and the company.
  • Model a passion for the company mission, vision, and values while inspiring team members to do the same.
  • Execute the Service Recovery model proficiently and ensure team members are empowered to use its tools efficiently.
  • Articulate how customer service is measured and communicate service scores to team members.
  • Act as an effective coach and developer of team members using leader coaching skills.
  • Work to improve service breakdowns to minimize or prevent impact to guests and employees.
  • Create onboarding training experiences for new hires to set them up for success.
  • Develop and update training and development tools.
  • Motivate the team to work toward peak performance.
  • Manage employee labor through efficient scheduling and staffing based on business volume and demand.
  • Identify ways to reduce costs during inventories and ordering; think creatively to find cost-saving opportunities.
  • Train department trainers to execute top-notch training for new hires.
  • Complete computer-related tasks using Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Monitor legal compliance with federal, state, and gaming laws.
  • Perform assigned input work in compiling annual budgets.
  • Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
  • Assist with the execution of banquet services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including culinary team duties if needed.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree preferred or equivalent technical training in food and beverage.
  • Four years of restaurant industry experience, including two years in a supervisory role, is preferred.
  • Two years of experience or certification in food preparation is preferred.
  • Ability to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.

Skills

  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodation.
  • Able to respond to visual and auditory cues.
  • Able to bend, stoop, stand, and walk for periods up to 10-hour shifts.
  • Able to work in areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, and bright lights.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. (e.g., bus tubs with used glassware).
  • Able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations.
  • Able to tolerate working outside in very hot temperatures, including but not limited to working in the pool area.
