Restaurant Server

About the role

Viceroy Chicago, IL is seeking a Restaurant Server to join our team. This position is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests, managing orders, and ensuring a positive dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, courteous, and efficient service to guests
• Receive and deliver guests' orders and collect payment
• Service guests with all food and beverage requirements
• Pre-bus all tables, removing soiled dishes after each course
• Be familiar with the P.O.S system and perform cashiering functions
• Perform opening and closing procedures and side-work duties according to station rotation assignment
• Ensure tables and side stands are stocked, tidy, and clean
• Keep beverages at least ¾ full and breakdown trays of soiled dishes in the dishroom
• Answer the telephone according to standards
• Upsell food, beverage, and promotional items to guests
• Be familiar with fire extinguishers and their usage
• Breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts may require flexible and long hours

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred
• Flexible and willing to work long hours
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to listen and clarify concerns
• Effective multitasking and prioritization skills
• Proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving

• Willingness to cross-train in other hotel-related areas
