Restaurant Manager - Sweet Waters on the River

About the role

The Restaurant Manager at Sweet Waters on the River | Valley River Inn is a key position within the Columbia Hospitality team. This role is responsible for managing the restaurant's operations, ensuring high standards of service, and driving the restaurant's success.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly schedules for Front of House taking into consideration fluctuations in business to control labor costs.
• Work with Director of Food and Beverage and Executive Chef to manage menus, inventory and ordering.
• Submit payroll for front of house staff before deadline each pay period.
• Coordinate with Director of Food and Beverage to conduct all hiring for the front of house staff for all outlets.
• Attend off-site tastings to continue wine education and uphold the restaurant's reputation for its wine list.
• Train and supervise all front of house staff in proper service etiquette and test their knowledge about menu offerings.
• Work with Director of Food and Beverage and Executive Chef to plan and execute private parties.
• Oversee all aspects of front of house service for the restaurant, including managing the floor and creating an efficient flow for both front and back of house.
• Empower proper service etiquette in all outlets.
• Work with Director of Food and Beverage and Executive Chef to conduct yearly performance reviews with all year-round front of house staff.
• Collaborate with Director of Food and Beverage to promote staff cross-training and increase efficiency.
• Develop and maintain a marketing strategy that targets the restaurant's clientele and attracts new customers.
• Work with Director of Food and Beverage and Executive Chef to enhance the restaurant's food and beverage amenities.

Requirements

• 3+ years related experience in a Management/Leadership role.
• A wine service certification is preferred.
• The ability to read, write, and speak English fluently is required.
• Computer knowledge including Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic knowledge of POS systems is preferable.
• Flexibility and the ability to perform multiple tasks and work in stressful situations are essential.
• A strong team environment within and across departments.
• Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Strong general management skills, including time management, information analysis, planning and organizing, decision making, problem solving, and delivering results.
• Strong financial management skills, including budget management, expense control, forecasting, and analysis of financial statements.
• Strong people management skills, including coaching, motivating, delegating, scheduling, and relationship-building.

Pay

$75,000 - $80,000 per year.

Schedule

Get paid daily (make any day a payday), with paid time off and holiday pay. The exact schedule can vary based on the needs of the restaurant and the individual's availability.
