The Restaurant Leader is responsible for the strategic direction of their restaurant, maintaining operations standards, and driving results through people development, sales, and profit growth. This role teaches, models, and upholds Raising Cane’s culture standards for all crewmembers, customers, and partners. The physical work environment includes a fast-paced kitchen (requiring extended periods of walking, standing, lifting, and bending), customer interaction, varied temperatures, food products, allergens, industrial equipment, commercial cleaning products, and necessary physical activities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures overall financial success of the restaurant, including forecasting, budgeting, and profit and loss statements
  • Ensures restaurant compliance with company standards, policies, and laws
  • Hires and terminates management-level crewmembers, including status changes and payroll processing
  • Creates crewmember work and training schedules
  • Develops management-level crewmembers, including performance management
  • Acts as manager on duty, opens and closes the restaurant, and manages cash handling
  • Monitors and executes strategy for financial and operational performance
  • Enforces Raising Cane’s policies and standards
  • Uses required tools, forms, and logs to support shift execution and document results
  • Deploys crewmembers during shifts and provides exemplary customer service
  • Utilizes reward and recognition programs for crewmembers
  • Authorizes employee functions requiring manager approval (e.g., discounts, timeclock overrides)
  • Ensures cleanliness of the restaurant and facility maintenance
  • Maintains training restaurant status
  • Achieves performance metrics in crewmember and operations areas
  • Completes other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple changing priorities
  • Self-driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively
  • Skilled in problem-solving, goal-setting, and converting plans into action
  • Able to measure performance subjectively and objectively with high emotional intelligence
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and able to learn new systems quickly
  • Able to work varied shifts (days, evenings, weekends) and travel as needed for work-related functions
  • Manages public dealings professionally and acts as a brand ambassador
  • 5+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • New restaurant opening and local marketing experience preferred
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
