About the role
As a Host/Hostess at Nemacolin, you will be responsible for creating an exciting environment for both internal and external guests. Your primary role involves providing extraordinary guest service, going above and beyond in all situations. You will also have the ability to exercise good judgment in various scenarios, using strong written and verbal communication skills while managing multiple priorities.
Responsibilities
- Delivers internal and external guest service the Nemacolin way.
- Goes above and beyond – whether for an associate or guest.
- Builds and retains guest relations and acts as a mentor to other employees and coworkers to provide superior guest service.
- Prepares floor plans, seating charts, and rotation schedules.
- Greets guests at the restaurant entrance with a friendly, upbeat, smiling, and positive attitude.
- Sets up tables appropriately and ensures all necessary items are provided for the guest, including menus, silverware, etc.
- Communicates effectively with the serving staff and takes care of guest requests and needs.
- Informs servers and staff about special occasions of guests, such as birthdays and anniversaries, to ensure "Real Life Magic" is created.
- Answers the phone in a kind and cordial manner while taking reservations.
- Knowledgeable about menus for all food and beverage outlets.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Friendly and outgoing personality.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to stand for up to 8 hours at a time.
- Fluent in the English language.
- Able to perform basic mathematical functions.
- Able to handle high-pressure situations.
- Customer service experience preferred; restaurant experience a plus.
- Able to work various shifts, including holidays, weekends, evenings, etc.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to interface professionally with business contacts and customers.
- Strong understanding of the hospitality industry helpful.
Qualifications
- Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a guest service role.
Skills and Abilities
