Respite Provider

About the role

The Respite Provider will plan, coordinate, and execute fun, engaging, and therapeutic activities for kids in a 1:1 or group setting. Respite provides parents and guardians a break from caregiving, while also ensuring their children are safe and well cared for.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute fun, engaging, and therapeutic activities for kids in a 1:1 or group setting.
• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children.
• Ensure children's safety and well-being during respite sessions.
• Collaborate with families to understand their needs and preferences.
• Document activities and progress in a timely manner.
• Communicate regularly with supervisors and families about child's progress and any issues that arise.

Requirements

• An associate’s degree or completion of at least two years (60 hours) of coursework towards a Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or a related field is required.
• Some experience working directly with individuals with behavioral health concerns is required.
• Some experience working with children is required.
• Must be willing and able to submit health history record forms.
• This position requires regular travel in agency vehicles, so a valid driver’s license is required.
• A current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Experience with children and understanding of behavioral health concerns is preferred.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to different settings and environments.
• Knowledge of child development and behavior.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Pay

$19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Schedule

Flexible, mostly days, afternoons, and evenings during the week, occasional weekends, no overnights
