Respiratory Therapy Supervisor
Job Summary and Qualifications
Our Respiratory department is a committed, caring group of colleagues. We are currently seeking a Supervisor of Respiratory Therapy and will provide you the tools and resources you need to succeed in our organization. As a Supervisor on our Respiratory team, you will provide supervision for all aspects of Respiratory Care Services and will be responsible for shift operations of the department.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and are responsible for the delivery of safe, quality, patient care for assigned departments and staff on a daily basis
- Ensure department's standards of practice, policies and procedures meet legal and all accrediting and regulatory agency requirements
- Conduct respiratory assessments of patients as indicated within scope of practice
- Administer medications and perform various clinical modalities as prescribed by physicians
Requirements
- Completion of a two-year accredited respiratory care program
- Associate Degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Clear/active Florida licensure: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire
- Required within 6 months of hire: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) & Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Minimum of five years of experience in clinical respiratory therapy in an acute hospital environment
- One year of supervisory experience
- Critical thinking, service excellence and top-notch interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal instructions
- PC skills
