Respiratory Therapy Supervisor

About the role

The Respiratory Therapy Supervisor leads daily operations, staff development, quality improvement, and professional initiatives within the Respiratory Therapy department. They assist the Manager/Director in their absence and oversee treatment, staff scheduling, training, inventory management, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff performance and develops performance improvement projects.
• Manages supplies and equipment, evaluates new technology, and ensures adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
• Conducts performance evaluations and handles patient assessments and treatments.
• Coordinates with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality care.
• Participates in administrative on-call duties and ensures team performance aligns with hospital standards.

Key Duties

• Staff supervision and performance management.
• Training and development of respiratory therapy staff.
• Inventory control and equipment evaluation.
• Patient care, documentation, and policy adherence.
• Emergency response and participation in quality initiatives.

Requirements

• Current Colorado Respiratory License.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
• BLS, PALS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved respiratory program (BS preferred).
• At least 5 years of clinical experience and 1-3 years of leadership experience.
