Respiratory Therapy Manager
About the role
Assists in the quality assurance program within the department and the hospital.
Administers therapeutic gases, such as oxygen, and prescribed medications via inhalation, including bronchodilators and humidified gases.
Administers positive pressure breathing treatments, including IPPB, Ezpap, CPAP, and Bipap, and monitors continuous ventilatory support.
Performs regular equipment maintenance, preparation, cleaning, sterilization, calibration, repair testing, and evaluation.
Participates in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and performs airway care, including tracheobronchial aspiration.
Conducts pulse oximetry testing and pulmonary function testing according to defined procedures.
Provides patient counseling in all aspects of respiratory care.
Performs bronchial drainage and chest physiotherapy as outlined in department procedures and policies.
Documents hospital procedures in the EMR, including charting, medication tracking, billing for RT services, and daily workflow.
Plans and organizes the activities of the Respiratory Therapy Department, including equipment evaluation, manpower requirements, and continuing education programs.
Supervises Respiratory Therapy department personnel, including hiring, evaluating, training, and ensuring the efficiency of the technical staff.
Supervises and participates in the flow of work, ensuring the quality and efficiency of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Requirements
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or Healthcare Administration
- 2+ years of Respiratory Care leadership experience
- 5+ years of Respiratory Care experience
Qualifications
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Active NBRC Credentialed Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS)
