Respiratory Therapy Apprentice (Part Time)

About the role

Must be presently enrolled at GFC-MSU Respiratory Therapy program.

Responsibilities

• Assists a licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) while performing basic respiratory care procedures, patient preparation, and equipment setup.
• Observes and assists in the patient care delivery process under direct supervision, while developing foundational respiratory therapy skills within a competency-based framework established by the department.
• Functions within a defined scope of practice based on current educational preparation and verified competencies.
• All clinical activities are performed in accordance with hospital policy, department guidelines, regulatory standards, and HIPAA requirements.
• Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and confidentiality in all patient interactions.
• Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations.
• Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.
• Will perform all job duties or job tasks as assigned.
• Will follow and adhere to all requirements, regulations and procedures of any licensing board or agency.

Requirements

• Enrollment in an CoARC accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Current licensed by Montana Registered Apprenticeship for Respiratory Therapy required
• Must remain in good academic standing in the RT program
• Current BLS certification
