- StaffFlex contract, 13 weeks
Pay
$54.74/hr
Responsibilities
- Delivers routine respiratory treatments and continuous respiratory therapy including aerosol therapy, lung expansion therapy, oxygen therapy, and bronchial hygiene.
- Monitors, instructs, and coaches patients before, during, and after treatment delivery.
- Prevents and/or resolves untoward side effects and adjusts therapies according to protocol and documented clinical criteria.
- Reevaluates patient/ventilator interface a minimum of every four hours, responds to alarms, and troubleshoots as needed.
- Establishes weaning readiness and facilitates the weaning process, adjusting ventilator settings in accordance with patient progress.
- Draws and analyzes arterial and capillary blood gases, places arterial lines, and makes or recommends changes in respiratory management according to blood gas results.
- Recommends changes in respiratory plan of care according to documented medical necessity and within established protocols.
- Ensures the effectiveness of therapist assessment and reassessment by monitoring patient progress.
- Makes and/or recommends changes based on pulse oximetry, peak flow measurement, chest x-ray, lab work, and other data relevant to optimal patient progress.
- Initiates and maintains mechanical ventilation, determining or guiding the determination of ventilator mode and settings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Recent Respiratory Therapist experience required
- Open availability
- Patient care skills to care for neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
- 1+ years critical care experience (Preferred)
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an approved respiratory care program (Required)
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) (Required)
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or State Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) (Required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) (Preferred)
- Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) (Preferred)
- Neonatal Med Certification (NEONATAL MED) (Preferred)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) (Preferred)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification (Preferred)
- Intubations and airway management for all populations served (Preferred)
- Ventilator management for all populations served (Preferred)
- Arterial line placements (Preferred)

Pay Range: $15.00 - $130.00
