About the role

The Respiratory Therapist (RT-CRT) provides comprehensive respiratory care, including oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Set up, monitor, and wean oxygen and artificial ventilation
• Draw and analyze arterial blood gases
• Deliver respiratory therapies
• Assist with airway management
• Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures
• Document clinical information accurately
• Provide patient education
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
• Maintain legal and ethical standards
• Stay informed on healthcare regulations
• Support a safe, respectful work environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current Louisiana Respiratory Therapist license
• Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
