About The Role
The Respiratory Therapist evaluates and treats patients with breathing-related conditions, performs diagnostic testing, and collaborates with physicians to develop effective treatment plans. This role is central to emergency response, patient education, and maintaining high clinical standards — supporting patients from neonatal through older adult populations. Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic testing, including bedside testing, EKGs, and blood gas analysis
- Deliver tobacco cessation education
- Administer respiratory therapies and monitor patient response, communicating changes in condition to the care team
- Respond to codes and emergent respiratory calls, providing rapid assessment and intervention
- Educate patients and families on respiratory health, medication use, and illness management
- Maintain and calibrate respiratory equipment and manage supplies
- Support ongoing performance improvement initiatives
- Provide care across all patient age groups while ensuring compliance with safety and infection control standards
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy (required)
- Active RRT license in the state of Arkansas (required)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments with exposure to biological and chemical hazards
- Strong critical thinking skills, reliability, and a commitment to patient-centered care
