Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Acute

Responsibilities

• Coverage of nights shifts
• Evaluate and treat patients with breathing-related conditions
• Perform diagnostic testing, including bedside, EKGs, blood gas analysis, and tobacco cessation education
• Deliver respiratory therapies, monitor patient response, and communicate changes in condition
• Respond to codes and emergent respiratory calls, providing rapid assessment and intervention
• Educate patients and families on respiratory health, medication use, and illness management
• Maintain and calibrate respiratory equipment, manage supplies, and support performance improvement efforts
• Provide care across neonatal through older adult populations while ensuring compliance with safety and infection control standards

Requirements

• Average of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting
• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
• RRT license in the state of practice
• BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments with exposure to biological and chemical hazards
• Strong critical thinking skills, reliability, and a commitment to patient-centered care
