What you do?

  • Makes recommendations to physicians regarding respiratory care techniques and effectively utilizes established protocols to ensure appropriate utilization of services.
  • Administers prescribed medication during aerosol therapy per protocol assessment.
  • Monitors and initiates oxygen therapy, bronchial hygiene, oxygenation/ventilation assessment (Arterial Blood Gases/Pulse Oximetry sampling), trach care management, and noninvasive ventilation.
  • Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation and airway management, including intubation according to the established American Heart Association guidelines.
  • Initiates and maintains advanced ventilation modes to include monitoring of cardiovascular parameters for patients on mechanical ventilation and implements techniques such as Bilevel, PC, CPAP, IMV, HFOV, BIPAP, Heliox, Nitric Oxide, arterial line insertion, and transports, etc.
  • Plans, demonstrates, articulates, and coordinates the care and interventions of the patient that include consideration of specific-age related characteristics, needs related physical development, motor control, communication, socialization, and safety, in collaboration with other members of the health care team.

What you bring?

  • Average or bachelor’s degree in Respiratory care.
  • Two years of pediatric experience in critical and acute care.
  • Three years of experience in acute care.
  • Two years of experience in critical care.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) licensure by the State of Georgia.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS).
