Respiratory Therapist/Pulmonary Function Technologist (Contract) - Richmond and Norfolk, Virginia

About the role

Crosswalk Health is hiring Respiratory Therapists (CRT/RRT) and Pulmonary Function Technologists (CPFT/RPFT) to perform simple spirometry testing (pre/post albuterol) at primary care clinics in the Richmond and Norfolk, Virginia areas. The role brings high‑quality pulmonary diagnostics directly into primary care, helping patients receive earlier diagnoses and expanding access to specialty respiratory care.

Responsibilities

• Visit local primary care clinics to perform pre‑ and post‑bronchodilator spirometry testing.
• Educate and coach patients to ensure accurate, high‑quality results.
• Safely administer albuterol when indicated and monitor patients throughout testing.
• Grade and upload completed testing for pulmonologist review.
• Maintain testing equipment and follow quality and safety standards.
• Build trusted relationships with patients and clinic teams while representing Crosswalk Health with professionalism and compassion.

Qualifications

• Current CRT, RRT, CPFT, or RPFT credential.
• Experience performing bedside spirometry or pulmonary function testing.
• Knowledge of respiratory therapy practices and safe albuterol administration.
• Comfortable commuting to clinics throughout a region.
• Available to work a flexible schedule.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Pay

Compensation is $245–$300 per day, paid biweekly; additional supplemental compensation may be available based on experience, tenure with Crosswalk Health, and region served.
