Respiratory Therapist - PRN

About the Role

Provides respiratory care utilizing critical thinking and clinical skills as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Demonstrates expertise by passing NBRC examinations and assessing, evaluating, and implementing complex care methods. Acts as a clinical resource and collaborates with healthcare team members to deliver patient-centered care. Offers education to patients and families, supports healthcare improvement initiatives, and exhibits clinical leadership. Completes assigned goals and supports ongoing learning.

Responsibilities

• Assess and develop care plans for patients
• Implement and evaluate care strategies
• Administer prescribed medications
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers
• Participate in quality improvement activities
• Communicate and collaborate with healthcare team
• Provide clinical leadership and support lifelong learning
• Achieve assigned goals

Requirements

• Recent clinical respiratory care experience
• Hospital experience preferred
• Successful completion of hospital and departmental orientation
• Basic computer skills with Windows and Microsoft Office

Qualifications

• Licensure as an RRT and BLS certification within 14 days of hire
• ACLS preferred
