Respiratory Therapist / Nurse

About the role

This employee performs equipment setups in a timely and professional manner, including highly technical equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units. The incumbent also provides technical assistance with equipment, performs setup of all types of oxygen equipment, and delivers patient education as an integral part of patient care according to patient needs and Lincare policy, frequently in patients' homes.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient education as part of patient care activities.
• Performs complete and professional patient assessments in accordance with Lincare policies and procedures.
• Maintains current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts.
• Follows applicable policies and procedures regarding General Safety, OSHA (including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), DOT (driving safety), FDA, and Emergency Planning.
• Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and content of written reports.
• Facilitates prescription collection.
• Maintains patient records in a complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards.
• Works on-call evenings and weekends as scheduled; frequency is determined by center size and employee availability.
• Must respond to on-call duties in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Requires use of a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license.
