Respiratory Therapist / Nurse

About the Role

This employee performs equipment setups in a timely and professional manner, focusing on highly technical equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units. The role also includes providing technical assistance with equipment, setting up all types of oxygen equipment, and delivering patient education as part of patient care activities, often in patients' homes.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient education according to patient need and Lincare policy.
• Performs complete and professional patient assessments in accordance with Lincare policies and procedures.
• Maintains current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts.
• Follows applicable policies and procedures in the Safety & Regulatory Manual, including General Safety, OSHA (proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), DOT (driving safety), FDA, and Emergency Planning.
• Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and the content of written reports.
• Facilitates prescription collection.
• Maintains patient records in a complete and organized manner, compliant with accreditation standards.
• Works on-call evenings and weekends as scheduled; frequency depends on center size and employee availability.
• Must respond to on-call duties in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Requires use of a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license.
