About the role
Provide respiratory care, oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for patients of all ages. The role involves direct patient contact and exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, wean, and adjust oxygen and ventilation therapies
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as Arterial Blood Gases and EKGs
- Assist with airway management and deliver treatments as ordered
- Educate patients and staff on respiratory care
- Document clinical information accurately
- Ensure compliance with policies and regulations
- Maintain certifications and stay updated on procedures
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy (required)
- Valid state license and certification as a Respiratory Therapist
- Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- BLS certification (required)
- ACLS and PALS certifications (required within 90 days of hire)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required for NICU roles)
- Ability to perform routine and advanced respiratory procedures
- Work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical demands such as lifting
- Knowledge of legal and safety standards
- Effective communication, computer proficiency, analytical, and interpersonal skills
