Respiratory Therapist- GIG/Flex/Per Diem/PRN - Mercy St Louis and Surrounding Communities

About the Role

Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care according to physician's orders. Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy and acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care. Performs duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physician orders
• Consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness
• Serve as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff on respiratory care
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of a CoARC‑approved Respiratory Care program
• Licensure: Current state Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
• Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the NBRC
• Additional Certifications: PALS required for Emergency Room assignments; ACLS required
• Experience: Minimum one year of experience (excluding orientation time)
• Physical Demands: Push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs.; pinch up to 10 lbs.; minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
• Equipment: All appropriate respiratory care devices
• Preferred: Critical care experience

Pay

• RRT: $35/hour base rate
• CRT: $30/hour base rate
• Variable shift incentives available
• W‑2 employee status

Schedule

• Flexible day or night shifts — choose what works for you
• No weekend, holiday, or shift requirements
• 4‑, 8‑, or 12‑hour shifts available
• Flexibility in number of hours worked
