Respiratory Therapist - Full Time Nights
About the role
Matheny is a special hospital for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities. Founded in 1951, Matheny provides fully integrated, personalized care and education that respects each person’s dignity and encourages their highest potential. The hospital’s fully-accredited non-profit private school combines traditional academics with therapeutic intervention and pre-vocational skill development, while the Adult Services Program supports adult patients in attaining their highest level of functioning and integration into the community. Matheny’s Arts Access program empowers individuals with disabilities to create art without boundaries through innovative communication systems.
Duties
- Performs patient-focused respiratory therapy services.
- Participates in Code Blue team drills and evaluations.
- Provides education and staff training.
- Provides oversight for environmental safety and equipment management.
- Complies with all appropriate Joint Commission and CARF standards of care.
- Participates in the interdisciplinary pulmonary clinics.
Requirements
- Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the New Jersey State Board of Respiratory Care.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Current CPR Healthcare Certification required (BLS and AED).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification preferred (ACLS).
- National Board of Respiratory certification required.
Schedule
Night shift, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am.

Pay
Hourly rate: $39.50 – $46.00 per hour.
A signing bonus of $3,000 is payable in two installments: $1,500 after three months of continuous employment and the remaining $1,500 after six months of continuous employment.
