About the role
Provides respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to patients across all ages, following physician orders and established protocols.
Responsibilities
- Performs therapeutic procedures, monitors and weans oxygen therapy, draws and reports arterial blood gases and EKGs
- Assists with artificial airway management
- Educates patients and colleagues
- Ensures compliance with regulatory standards
- Documents clinical information accurately
- Adapts patient interactions based on age and individual needs
- Maintains current knowledge of laws, standards, and safety protocols
- Uses computer skills for data entry and communication
- Participates in ongoing education and quality improvement
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree (bachelor's preferred)
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license and NBRC certification
- BLS certification; ACLS within 90 days
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform physical duties, including lifting and prolonged standing

Additional Details
Works directly with patients and specimens, with exposure to biohazards and infectious materials. Must be flexible and capable of working in a dynamic healthcare environment.
