Respiratory Therapist - Full Time - Days

This role provides general and emergency respiratory therapy procedures to patients as directed by physicians and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory assessments, airway and ventilator management, bi-level non-invasive ventilation management, pulmonary diagnostics, delivery of medicated aerosols, bronchial hygiene therapy, and lung expansion therapy.
• Assist with intubation, CPR, bronchoscopy, arterial line placement, arterial sampling, and ABG analysis and interpretation.
• Assess changes in patient’s clinical condition, make independent judgements, and modify care as necessary according to departmental policies and approved physician protocols.
• Make rounds with physicians in critical care units.
• Act as a preceptor, actively support, and constructively contribute to the development of new and existing staff members.
• Ensure accuracy in documenting services and supplies provided to patients.
• Perform airway and ventilator management for infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults, including assessment, application, intubation, monitoring, and evaluation of modality.
• Conduct arterial line insertions, ABG sticks, ABG analysis, and interpret results.
• Complete all mandatory training requirements on time.
• Assist the department manager with Performance Improvement projects and other duties as needed.

Requirements

• License to practice respiratory care in the state of Idaho or Oregon.
• Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (required at hire).
• ACLS/PALS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Demonstrated ability to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric).
