About the Role

Patients depend on our team for the best in evidence-based care and innovative therapies, such as inhaled nitric oxide, high-frequency oscillation, and invasive and non-invasive ventilator support modalities. Opportunities exist for motivated Registered Respiratory Therapists (and Certified Respiratory Therapy Technicians) with the skills to provide a high level of quality service in a variety of settings including the ED, Trauma, and Critical Care.

Provides care for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care.
  • Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition.
  • Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.
  • Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
  • Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.

Requirements

  • Accredited Program: Respiratory Therapy (Required)
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (TT LICENSE) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RT LICENSE) - State of Florida

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

No prior work experience required.

National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential is preferred.
