Respiratory Therapist - Emergency Department

Role Overview Provides advanced respiratory care in a complex clinical setting, utilizing protocols to promote optimal patient outcomes. Collaborates effectively with multidisciplinary teams, prioritizes evidence-based practice, and models proficiency through precepting new healthcare staff. Manages ventilators, airway support, and pulmonary therapies across various care levels, contributing to safety and quality at the point of care. Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care utilizing respiratory therapy best practices and protocols.Partner with healthcare teams to achieve exceptional care outcomes.Mentor and precept new staff and students, fostering a learning environment.Manage complex respiratory equipment and support diverse patient needs.Engage in clinical and process improvement projects for ongoing growth. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC.Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (if applicable), PALS (if applicable), and NRP within one year for NICU roles.Strong clinical knowledge, teamwork, and communication skills.
