Respiratory Therapist

About the role

Shriners Children's Chicago is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team on a part-time, day shift schedule. The ideal candidate will bring experience in pediatric critical care respiratory therapy and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Schedule

This part-time day shift position works 48 hours bi-weekly and the hours are 7am to 7pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in daily planning via patient rounds as part of the interdisciplinary team for the plan of care
• Increase knowledge in orthopaedic care to improve outcomes for patients and families
• Opportunity for academic growth through participation in research projects
• Provides primary respiratory care to patients from admission through discharge under a physician's order
• Communicates verbal and/or written patient and departmental information/special needs to pertinent persons in a timely and appropriate manner (i.e. rounds)
• Documents accurate, specific, complete patient care data according to policy and procedure guidelines
• Assures safe, cost effective operation and function of pertinent equipment and utilizes appropriate infection control techniques in all areas

Required Qualifications

• Associate Respiratory Therapy
• 5 Years RT experience in ICU setting
• RRT
• License in state of Illinois
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 Year Pediatric experience

Pay

The pay range for this position is $33.47 - $50.22. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
