About the role
Registered Respiratory Therapist II (RRT) responsible for providing safe, high-quality patient care across various settings, practicing with autonomy under respiratory and ventilator management protocols. May perform procedures such as intubations and arterial line insertions depending on the facility.
Responsibilities
- Act as a patient advocate by incorporating education into care plans
- Prioritize duties based on patient needs
- Administer and evaluate medication therapies
- Perform patient transfers
- Deliver routine and advanced respiratory care including ABGs and bronchial hygiene
- Demonstrate independence in respiratory care practices
- Manage critical care tasks such as ventilator management, airway management, blood gas interpretation, and emergency responses
Requirements
- Associate degree (bachelor's preferred)
- Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- BLS certification (ACLS and PALS preferred)
- Ability to evaluate patient needs and perform various respiratory procedures
- Operate with a high level of professionalism and independence
