Respiratory Student/PRN (Florence, SC)

About the role

Under the direction of a licensed Respiratory Therapy professional, the Respiratory Therapy student is responsible for:

• Administration of pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care procedures necessary to implement treatment, disease prevention, or diagnostic regime prescribed by a physician.
• Proper assessment, observation, and monitoring of signs and symptoms, general behavior, and general physical response to respiratory care treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Implementation of appropriate respiratory care procedures and protocols based on physician orders.
• Implementation of changes in treatment pursuant to the written or verbal orders of a physician.
• Assessment and initiation of emergency procedures.
• Collaboration with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery to achieve desired patient outcomes.
• Performing all other duties as required.

Requirements

• Must be a respiratory student, active and in good standing, who may be employed and works under the direct supervision of a respiratory care practitioner.
• Must practice to the person’s level of proven clinical competence, as certified by a program approved by the AARC.
• Must be checked off in all clinical modalities as outlined in a Respiratory Care Accredited Program.
• Current BLS certification as required by program affiliation.

Schedule

PRN position with scheduled weekly hours up to 8.
