Job Summary

Kindred Hospital Riverside is a 40-bed long-term acute care hospital offering specialized care for extended recovery periods. The Respiratory Manager oversees clinical and technical operations, providing respiratory therapy and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary issues. The position ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for planning, defining, and developing Respiratory Care's scope of practice, including new services.
• Manages the departmental workforce through interviewing, hiring, orientation, performance evaluation, competency verification, staff education, scheduling, problem resolution, and disciplinary action.
• Monitors equipment and supplies, ensuring compliance with division guidelines and meeting departmental needs.
• Ensures correct administration of respiratory medications and treatments, and evaluates staff competence in patient care.
• Schedules cardiopulmonary procedures and maintains records.
• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment for proper functioning.
• Interacts professionally with patients and family members, involving them in the care plan.
• Able to perform, train, and evaluate all essential functions of Respiratory Therapists and Supervisors.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations

• Must read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated knowledge of respiratory therapy and cardiology, treating patients according to professional standards.
• Ability to think critically, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
• Capable of responding quickly to emergencies and maintaining regular attendance.

Education & Certification

• Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or Administration preferred.
• Current Respiratory Therapy license from the appropriate state licensing body.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential in compliance with the National Board for Respiratory Care Credential Maintenance Program (CMP).
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Experience

• Minimum three years of previous experience in all aspects of respiratory care services.
• Previous management experience preferred.
• Experience managing a Point of Care ABG Lab preferred.

Pay Range

$38.17 - $48.41/Hr
