Respiratory Care Tech

About the Role

Performs designated duties as part of the Respiratory Care Department, including inventory, stocking of respiratory supplies, and cleaning of equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs low-level disinfection on equipment.
• Assists in inventory of disposable supplies.
• Transports equipment, specimens, blood, etc., throughout the hospital.
• Maintains technical training in use of equipment pertinent to specific area.
• Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury-accident to Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma, equivalent education (GED), or post-secondary education.
• Six (6) months of healthcare experience or currently enrolled as a student in an accredited respiratory therapy program.

Preferred Qualifications

• Respiratory Therapy student.
