Respiratory Care Technician

Under the supervision of a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner, Manager, Director, and Vice President, the Respiratory Care Technician delivers direct patient care. This transitional position is intended for students enrolled in an approved respiratory care program or graduates who have not yet passed the NBRC exam, allowing for limited practice of respiratory care.

The Respiratory Care Technician demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care, understanding the unique physical and psychological needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. They assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information to provide quality care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care under supervision.
• Provide care appropriate to the age of the patient, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Assess and interpret patient data to ensure quality care.
• Demonstrate problem-solving ability, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Perform simple mathematical computations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Maintain enrollment and successful completion of six (6) months of an AMA-approved respiratory care program accredited by the JCRTE.
• BLS Certification.
