About the role

This position is sign on bonus eligible. This is a night shift position with 36 hours per week, some weekends required.

Essential Functions

  • Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a collegial work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
  • Provides leadership to staff to ensure short and long-term goals are met by developing standards of performance and capitalizing on employee strengths.
  • Provide leadership and supervision through coaching, counseling, developing standards of service, ensuring training and education, maintenance of competencies and conducting employee performance reviews.
  • Maintains privacy, confidentiality, and security for patients and staff.
  • Maintains a high level of clinical expertise in the areas of which they supervise.
  • Promotes a culture of safety for patients, self, co-workers, and facility in conjunction with the Director and Managers.
  • Aids with department operations by monitoring the quality, safety and outcomes, and implementing performance improvement measures for identified metrics.
  • Aids with policy and protocol development or changes.
  • Aids with the development and implementation of orientation and other educational offerings, for age-appropriate section.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage people.
  • Coaching and counseling skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Work Environment

  • Contact with patients and other healthcare providers.
  • Potential exposure to infectious and contagious diseases.
  • Subject to handling emergency, crises and stressful environments.
  • Clean environment.

About the Role

This position is sign on bonus eligible. This is a night shift position with 36 hours per week, some weekends required.

Education

  • Associate's degree in respiratory care from an AMA approved two or four-year program for respiratory care, or that satisfies the requirements in the admissions policies of the NBRC for registry examinations.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of Five years' experience in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and licensed to practice as an RCP in the State of applicable state required.
  • Maintain active membership of the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC).
