About the role

The Respiratory Care Staff Technician (S.T.) is currently enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Care educational program and functions in a limited capacity, exclusively within the realm of routine respiratory care.

Responsibilities

• Practical knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the cardiopulmonary system is required to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients receiving respiratory care.
• Function under the clinical supervision and guidance of the Manager or Charge Therapist.
• Demonstrate beginning and intermediate knowledge of clinical application and theoretical respiratory principles consistent with the current literature and accepted practice of the respiratory care profession.
• Able to assess and interpret basic data about the patient’s health status to identify each patient’s age specific needs and provide care.

Requirements

• Eligible for the National Board for Respiratory Care Certification exam or is enrolled and in good standing in an A.M.A. approved respiratory care program – required.
• Current State Medical Board of Ohio License: Limited Permit – required.
• BLS Certification in CPR through the American Heart Association. Certification must be active at time of hire and maintained throughout employment in position.

Qualifications
