About the Role

Performs essential respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients, including assessment, therapy administration, ventilator management, and patient education. Works independently and supervises delegated tasks, ensuring compliance with department policies and safety protocols. Collaborates with physicians and healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes in cardio-respiratory care.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document prescribed respiratory therapies
• Administer aerosol, oxygen, and ventilator care
• Perform pulmonary function tests and assist with specialized procedures
• Monitor and maintain respiratory equipment and supplies
• Provide patient and family education on respiratory conditions
• Ensure compliance with ventilator and infection prevention protocols
• Support staff training, quality control, and departmental operations
• Maintain accurate documentation

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program
• License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, PALS from approved vendors
• Preferred credentials include NBRC-RRT or CRT
• Strong knowledge of respiratory therapies, equipment maintenance, and patient instruction
• Ability to work independently, assess patient needs, and document care accurately
