Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapy, ventilator management, EKGs, and serve on the code team.
• Conduct exercise stress testing and pulmonary function testing.
• Carry out all duties in accordance with physician orders, using sound clinical judgment and technical expertise in patient care.
• Achieve and maintain advanced-level clinical skills necessary to care for critical patients.
• Perform cardiopulmonary procedures for patients of all ages (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).
• Attain department goals through a clearly established daily plan of treatments, procedures, cleanup, and maintenance, cooperating across all shifts regardless of assignments or job title.
• Ensure complete, accurate, and timely documentation in department and patient records, including proper billing and charge capture.
• Maintain open and positive communication with peers, supervisors, physicians, patients, and outside customers, using age-appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication under all circumstances.
• Uphold patient and co-worker confidentiality.
• Maintain a neat, safe clinic environment, equipment, and personal workspace.
• Meet annual safety and hospital-wide educational requirements in a timely manner.
• Advance professional education through regular participation in internal and external opportunities, covering both broad and discipline-specific topics.
• Complete annual competencies and maintain accurate files in a personal portfolio.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of related special procedures.

Requirements

• Current state Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCPRT) license required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association required within one year of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within one year of hire.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred.
• One-year experience preferred.
• Basic familiarity with computers preferred.

Qualifications

Education: As required by licensure.

Pay

USD $40.06 - USD $57.28 /Hr.
