About the role
Under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Care and direct supervision of a licensed respiratory therapist, this position is responsible for setting up and operating various types of respiratory care equipment to diagnose and treat patients with respiratory diseases and illnesses. Full access to patient health information is provided.

Shift: PRN, As Needed
Requirements
- Registered with the North Carolina Board of Respiratory Care as a Respiratory Care Assistant
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- High School graduate from an accredited high school
- Must possess full range of body motion to pass a basic FIT test for the position, including walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, and sitting for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
May perform the following:
- Oxygen supply systems
- Equipment processing
- Manual resuscitation
- Oxygen administration
- Humidity and aerosol therapy
- Small volume nebulizer therapy
- MDI administration
- Incentive spirometry
- Chest physiotherapy
- Arterial puncture
- Nasotracheal suction
- Electrocardiogram
- Patient reporting
