Responsibilities

  • Aid clients in the housing search process.
  • Accompany clients to view units and advocate for them with landlords.
  • Support tenancy by providing tenant education and conducting home visits.
  • Research private market landlord availability and supportive housing options.
  • Facilitate client placement through relationships with area landlords.
  • Provide resources and referrals for homeless and at-risk clients and their families.
  • Offer post-placement conflict resolution and mediation services.
  • Maintain client databases and generate reports.
  • Enter accurate and timely data into HMIS and WellSky systems.
  • Attend scheduled team meetings and training sessions.
  • Participate in weekly Food Pantry Distribution for data entry and resource provision.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Human Services, Public or Business Administration, or related discipline required.
  • Four years of related employment experience may substitute for degree requirements.
  • Experience working with homeless and/or at-risk clients and families preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of community resources in Southern Nevada.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Effective communication and teamwork with a diverse group of residents, staff, and community partners.
  • Valid Nevada driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Pass The Salvation Army’s Fleet Safety e-learning module.
  • Pass a criminal background check.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Must have the ability to operate a telephone, desktop or laptop computer, access and produce information from a computer, and understand written information.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
