Responsibilities
- Aid clients in the housing search process.
- Accompany clients to view units and advocate for them with landlords.
- Support tenancy by providing tenant education and conducting home visits.
- Research private market landlord availability and supportive housing options.
- Facilitate client placement through relationships with area landlords.
- Provide resources and referrals for homeless and at-risk clients and their families.
- Offer post-placement conflict resolution and mediation services.
- Maintain client databases and generate reports.
- Enter accurate and timely data into HMIS and WellSky systems.
- Attend scheduled team meetings and training sessions.
- Participate in weekly Food Pantry Distribution for data entry and resource provision.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Human Services, Public or Business Administration, or related discipline required.
- Four years of related employment experience may substitute for degree requirements.
- Experience working with homeless and/or at-risk clients and families preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of community resources in Southern Nevada.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Effective communication and teamwork with a diverse group of residents, staff, and community partners.
- Valid Nevada driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Pass The Salvation Army’s Fleet Safety e-learning module.
- Pass a criminal background check.
Qualifications
- Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
- Must have the ability to operate a telephone, desktop or laptop computer, access and produce information from a computer, and understand written information.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach with hands and arms.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
